GETTING HELP AT RISE

Clients are either referred through another agency, the Family Court, NZ Police, or through a self-referral where you contact us directly. Once the referral has been made, we will contact you to make an appointment.

There is a high demand for our service so we may not contact you right away. However, if you are concerned and have not heard from us, please be in touch. If you are mandated by Family Court, you will need to contact us as soon as your court documents have been served to you.

Initial assessment

A RISE Clinician will meet with you in our office for an initial chat to help you and the Clinician identify the service best suited for you, which will be a group programme unless there is a compelling reason otherwise.

If you want to know more about the initial assessment, RISE Clinician Lara Buswell talks through the process in this blog post.

Consent form

We require you to sign a consent form when you begin working with us. A full version and signed copy of this form will be held on your file. You can request a copy at any time.

Disclosure of risks

If you share with one of our Clinicians that there is a risk of harm to you or someone else, we will establish a safety plan with you. We will also disclose information to other relevant agencies where appropriate to manage the risk you have identified.

Reach out if you need help, we are here.

Keeping confidential information

Unless it is a matter of safety to you or someone else, information you share with RISE Clinician/s is confidential and will not be shared. This includes the names of any members of your whānau or people known to you who may also be accessing RISE services. Likewise, you will not receive information regarding anyone else, including any members of your whānau, receiving support from our services.

Absence

We understand life happens and this may mean you miss a session. Please be in touch with us as early as possible if this happens. In general, after two missed sessions your referral will be closed. For mandated clients who miss two sessions, we must notify either Family Court or Corrections of your absences. To get the most out of the programme, we recommend you make it a priority. We encourage you to talk with the Group Facilitators or your Clinician if this is a concern.

If you are required to engage with our services by the Family Court, Department of Corrections, or Oranga Tamariki, we are required to keep them updated with your attendance and progress.
