Funding awarded for clinician development

We are delighted and grateful to share that the Community Organisation Grants Scheme, or COGS, has agreed to fund some of our clinicians’ professional development needs for the next three years.

COGS provides grants to non-profit organisations delivering community-based social services that contribute to achieving locally determined outcomes. RISE will receive $15,000 over the next three years to help our team of family violence specialists deliver services in new and helpful ways.

In the last two years, like many, we have had to change the way we work as a result of the COVID pandemic. During the lockdowns, our specialists had to adjust meeting capacities for clients and deliver services in person with social distancing as well as remotely online or by phone. Initially, some clients were reluctant to do this and admittedly our team went through an adjustment phase. We learned many lessons and now we are looking to implement best practice standards for flexible services going forward.

The funding will also contribute to routine professional development activities as well, which includes professional supervision as needed.

Thanks to COGS, our clinicians will continue to be the best trained and most qualified specialists in Nelson Tasman and RISE will continue to deliver the most advanced service we can to the people in the community who need us most.

Open hands hold a piece of paper that says thank you.
